Teepa Snow – Dementia Conference
On September 27, 2011 Aging & Adult Care, along with other community sponsors, brought nationally recognized dementia care education specialist Teepa Snow to the Convention Center in Wenatchee for a day-long seminar. Teepa has won numerous national awards for her engaging and informative teaching style. Those who attended learned how to effectively and compassionately communicate with those who have Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. She also talked about the disease process itself, why people afflicted with the disease act as they do.
Teepa’s unique ability to step into the shoes of those with dementia, as well as their caregivers, was evident to all who attended this conference. Everyone who attended walked out the door with new skills and a renewed spirit. As many noted, it’s a day they won’t soon forget.
