The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)
The senior farmers market nutrition program (SFMNP) provides fresh fruit and vegetables to lower-income seniors and supports local farming by increasing the use of farmers markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture. Produce is also purchased directly from farmers for delivery to seniors.
To be eligible to participate, you must meet the following:
- You must be 60 years old or older (or 55+ if you are Native American / Alaska Native)
- Your income must be below 185% of Federal Poverty Level. That means:
- $26,973 Annual or $2,248 Monthly Income for 1 person
- $36,482 Annual or $3,040 Monthly Income for 2 people
- For larger households, add $792 for each additional person
- You must be a resident of Washington State
We are currently taking applications for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
*Applications/Proxy Forms must be received at Aging & Adult Care of Central Washington by no later than June 14th, 2023*
Each qualified senior who resides in Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Lincoln and Okanogan counties will have the opportunity to receive $80.00 benefit cards (which replace the paper vouchers from prior years) to use at approved Farmers Markets and Farm Stores in Washington State for fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, and herbs!
